Federation House Commitment - Progress Report: 2009

Who is participating?

Food and Drink subsectors represented within the FCH

The food and drink manufacturing industry is made up of a wide range of subsectors that use water in different ways. For example, processing poultry can typically use around 27% of the total water use for carcass chilling, whilst cleaning in place (CIP) might account for around 25% of total water usage during the processing of skimmed milk[5].

It is encouraging to see the wide range of subsectors represented within the Commitment, see Figure 1. All companies involved in food and drink manufacture are invited to join the Commitment. Companies can make a commitment via the FHC website or contact Envirowise to find out how to get started.
