I have a passion for reading and an avid collector of films of different genres.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Learning different roles of the job and working with interesting people.

When did you start working for your company?

September 2011

What are the qualifications needed for this field?

HNC in Engineering

A Level History & GCSEs at C and above including English, Maths and Science

I found out about the job through a family member.

What attracted you to joining the industry?

It was the varied environments/departments where I can learn and be challenged in different and interesting roles of the job.

What are your/your businesses key achievements to date?

So far in my apprenticeship, I've been learning the manufacturing process of the making of Liquorice Allsorts.

How have you benefitted from doing an apprenticeship as opposed to just getting a job without formal training or choosing a more traditional degree route?

I find that with an apprenticeship you are gaining experience in the work place, learning new skills and at the same time acquiring a recognised qualification.

How do your employers support you in your apprentice?

We have regular meetings and discuss the best ways to structure a learning environment which will provide me with the skills I need to become successful in the future.

If you had to give one reason why young people should consider this career path, what would it be?

Because of the practical environment with doing an apprenticeship you are gaining experience in a working environment which will help your future development and at the same time being paid a wage.

What advice would you give to other people looking to pursue a career in this sector?

If the practical learning aspect is more beneficial to you instead of the classroom based environment then this is the most suitable career pathway to take. Be adaptable, open to new challenges and meeting new people along the way.

Where do you see your career going in the future?

A position within the company or a similar environment where I can put my skills into practice and develop further to a successful career.
