BCCC Annual Conference

The 2011 Biscuit, Cake Chocolate and Confectionery (BCCC) sector group conference took place on 6-7 April at the Oxford Belfry Hotel near Thame in Oxfordshire.

Over 1 1/2 days, delegates heard from experts and leaders in their fields, including Dr Clair Baynton from the Department of Health discussing nutrition policy and the Government's Responsibility Deal on Public Health, and a speaker from the National Heart Forum looking at the causes of childhood obesity alongside market-based solutions.

Other speakers included Tesco Stores, whose view on helping consumers make healthier choices was very well received by delegates, as was the insight given by leading market research firm Harris Interactive, on the impact of labelling on consumer choice.

The feedback from delegates was overwhelmingly positive, with 96% rating the event as 'good to excellent'.

The conference networking dinner presented fantastic opportunity for guests to meet and to discuss pertinent issues and share their experiences in the sector - aided by a fun and enjoyable ice-breaking quiz that got everyone talking.
