Kellogg's - Case study: Water efficiency
The Federation House Commitment was only a year old at the end of 2008 but in
that year, water use across Kellogg's two UK sites in Wrexham and Manchester had
reduced by over 7% per tonne of food.
Once again, much of the saving has been achieved through better house-keeping
with simple changes like using narrower hoses, with water guns attached so that
water can be turned off instantly. The company also improved cleaning processes
and worked on raising awareness.
The Wrexham plant had a great year in 2008, reducing water use by over 20% per
tonne of food against 2007.
