Case study: Midlands Co-operative Society Ltd
The Midlands Co-operative Society works in the very heart of its communities,
and has a long standing commitment to supporting charities through local
community based activities.
The Society's employees are integral to its charity fundraising activities, and
to recognise their commitment the Society has established a Charity Awards,
which highlights the fundraising efforts of individual employees.
Employees are involved at a number of levels from actually choosing the charity
to developing creative and fun ideas to support the adopted charity. Activities
have included charity golf days; six-aside football championships; local discos;
parachute jumps, and a dragon boat race.
The Charity Awards scheme continues to run each year.
