'Recycle on the Go' Nestlé Waters project in Buxton, Peak District
Nestlé Waters UK launched its Recycle on the Go project in
Buxton, Peak District to make it easier for people to recycle
out of home and reduce the volume of bottles and cans
going to landfill.
The company worked with recycling company Recoup and High
Peak Borough Council to develop recycling stations and now
has 21 sites throughout the town – a further 15 are planned.
The launch of the sites was backed by an advertising and
poster campaign in local media. Local interest has been
impressive with 98% of local people supporting the scheme.
During the eight month pilot phase of the project, 1,440 kg of
recyclates was collected.
