  • Alara Wholefoods is the first food manufacturer to be certified as a zero waste company thanks to its efforts to ensure nothing is sent to landfill or incineration from its factory in King's Cross, London.
  • Coca-Cola Enterprisescontinues to increase the amount of waste it recycles from its manufacturing sites in Great Britain as part of its aim to send zero waste to landfill.
  • McCain currently disposes of less than 1% of food and packaging waste from production in landfill and is working to reduce this figure on an annual basis.
  • Müller Dairy is working with the FareShare charity to divert surplus products, which would otherwise be considered waste, to disadvantaged people in local communities around the country.

Fewer transport miles

  • apetito is measuring and targeting the carbon footprint of its transport operations based on fuel used.
