FREE event

The Met Office Hadley Centre is world-renowned for climate monitoring and research. Hear from Expert Scientist Edward Pope, Expert Scientist in the Met Office
on the latest research into how climate variability and change impacts global arable farming and food security. You will gain an insight to the latest Met Office research on this subject and participate in a discussion about where research could head next.

Since joining the Met Office in 2011, Edward’s work has explored the impact of climate change on food security, energy, transport and water. Current activities include analysing the climate risk to agriculture and the risk of multi-breadbasket failures, tipping points in the global food system, and the economic value of climate information.

Prior to joining the Met Office, Edward held postdoctoral research positions at the University of Victoria, Canada, and the University of Leeds, after completing a PhD in Physics at the University of Southampton.
