Derek Croucher
Technical Director, Morning Foods and Chair of FDF Food Safety & Scientific Steering Group

Derek is Technical Director for the Morning Foods group of companies with responsibility for all regulatory, compliance and technical aspects encompassing both the food and animal feed businesses. Derek is a graduate food technologist with over 30 years' experience in technical and operations roles in the food industry working across frozen, chilled and ambient sectors.

Derek is Chair of the FDF Food Safety & Scientific Steering Group; Chair of the FDF Emerging Issues & Incident Management Working Group; and Chair of both the British Oat & Barley Millers Association and Association of Cereal Food Manufacturers Technical Committees.

Justin Everard
Head of External Communications, Food Standards Agency

Justin is Head of External Communications at the Food Standards Agency. As well as being responsible for stakeholder and media engagement, he is also the communications lead on the Regulating Our Future programme, one of the FSA's key priorities for 2020/21.

Justin joined the FSA in 2004 from Shell International where he was responsible for tackling public disquiet with rising petrol prices and leading efforts to promote the company's renewables programme. Before that Justin worked at the Sugar Bureau and the BBC where he was the Today programme's first ever dedicated press officer. In 2009, while at the FSA, Justin was seconded for eighteen months to head up communications for the New South Wales Food Authority in Australia. Justin started his working career at Saatchi & Saatchi.

Laura Blyth
Senior Communications Manager, LUX

An experienced PR consultant with a comprehensive background in both consumer and corporate campaigns. Previous and present clients include the Scottish Government, Zero Waste Scotland and Border Biscuits, John Lewis & Partners as well as leading on issues management for Hammerson and Edinburgh Zoo. Laura is currently working on a varying client base of food and drinks brands, all of which include consultancy and support in preparation for and during crisis situations.
