How will diet and health policy affect your business?

FREE event

Please note this event is for FDF members only. The Scottish Government is consulting on restricting the in-store promotion and marketing of 'discretionary categories'. These categories include: confectionery, sweet biscuits, crisps, savoury snacks, cakes, pastries, puddings, and soft drinks with added sugar, and Scottish Government is seeking views on including ice cream and dairy desserts.

These proposals are set to have major implications for all food and drink manufacturers that have a site in Scotland or sell into the Scottish market.

Food Standards Scotland is consulting on an Out of Home strategy for Scotland. And on top of that UK Government will be consulting on restricting promotions and marketing of foods high in fat, salt or sugar (HFSS). This could mean companies have to comply with two different sets of regulations.

At this breakfast briefing we will update you on the diet and health landscape in both Scotland and at UK level. You will have the chance to ask any questions you have about the consultations or how these policy initiatives could impact your business. Please submit questions you have in advance to ensure we can cover all members’ queries.

Any views or concerns you share at this meeting or at another time will help us shape our responses to these consultations.

Breakfast will be served from 08:00am, with the event starting at 08:30am. The event will conclude by 10:00am. Video Conference facilities will be available. If you wish to join by VC please let us know.
