Inspiring future food and drink superstars

FREE event

Have you considered the variety of people involved in making your favourite food and drink products? FDF Scotland’s parliamentary reception on 6 September 2017, sponsored by John Scott MSP, will celebrate the diverse range of food and drink manufacturing companies in Scotland and the careers involved.

The whole food and drink industry makes a massive contribution to the economy, with an annual turnover of over £14bn. Without the people that work in food and drink, the industry wouldn’t be the success it is today. But the sector is facing a skills gap especially in science, technology, and engineering. Join us to discuss how we can inspire the next generation to consider a career in food and drink.

  • Keynote address from Jamie Hepburn MSP, Minister for Employability and Training

Two of our industry’s rising stars will share their career journeys and why they are passionate about food and drink:

  • Daniel Sherry, winner of the Young Talent award at Scotland Food & Drink’s Excellence Awards 2016 and Head of Business Development at Eden Mill

  • Charlotte Surtees-Chapman, Public Affairs Manager, Coca-Cola European Partners

Our members will transform the Garden Lobby into a marketplace - showcasing their products and the careers involved in creating these products and getting them to market. Members with a stall in the marketplace include:

  • Agrico UK Ltd and McCain Foods Ltd
  • Brodie Melrose Drysdale & Co Ltd
  • Ivan Wood & Sons Ltd
  • Plan Bee Ltd
  • Thomas Tunnock Ltd
