The Medium Combustion Plant Directive (MCPD) is anticipated to deliver significant benefits for human health and reductions in greenhouse gas contributions, however it’s anticipated to also impose significant costs for food and drink businesses. The UK cost of fitting abatement, technology switches, undertaking monitoring, ensuring compliance and administration is anticipated to total £386.5m over the period 2018-2032 (Defra, 2016). With an estimated 10,000 existing plants to be affected, the average cost per item of plant is expected to be in the region of £38,650.

This webinar will provide an overview of the MCPD and explain how acting early will enable businesses with multiple operational sites to forecast their capital expenditures to soften the impact and provide a smooth transition in making the necessary upgrades to ensure compliance.
