Delivering a step-change in productivity via innovation in packaging engineering


A unique opportunity for key players in the field of packaging engineering to shape and drive the innovation agenda in the food and drink industry

As an important person in the field of Packaging Engineering within the Food and Drink Industry you are invited to join like-minded colleagues from a cross section of industry, including Premier Foods, at a workshop on 2nd November 2015, 10am to 4pm, at the National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University.

The workshop will bring together leading practitioners in packaging engineering within the food industry, including food manufacturers and machinery suppliers, to establish a collaborative forum and network of experts.

Our Primary Goal is to deliver a step change in Packaging Engineering Performance over the next 5 years; to identify a range of collaborative projects to support efficiency and meet consumer demand. Future innovations may range from flexible packaging for portion control, to improved changeover technology and inline printing – the possibilities are endless!

The aims of the workshop are to:

  • offer collaborative and engaging activities to highlight innovation needs in your industry
  • engage key people in Packaging Engineering in the pioneering stages, that over time will deliver the productivity improvements, both in your own business and for the industry overall
  • set out clearly the vision for Packaging Engineering in the food and drink industry over the next 5 years, in terms of the key enablers of productivity improvement, delivering improved efficiency and reliability in the packaging process, and improving how product, packaging, machinery and people work together
  • produce the roadmap, with key milestones and priority projects that will deliver the step change
