FDF response to Environment Agency Consultation on charges from 2015

Back to index

November 2014

In September 2014 the Environment Agency launched a consultation on its proposals for changes to charges from April 2015. FDF's response raises concern about the proposed introduction of a second tier of compliance charge multipliers for Band D, E and F performing installations as it goes against the spirit of achieving cost effective compliance and sustainable growth in the sector. FDF believes that the current multiplier already provides a sufficient incentive for sites to improve performance.

FDF also did not support the proposal to introduce a blanket permit commencement charge at 40% of annual charge for newly permitted EPR installations as this didn't appear to take into account whether or not there is an accredited environmental management system in place.
