December 2015

In November 2015, the House of Commons Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) Select Committee launched an inquiry looking at exports and the role of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI). Boosting exports is crucial to the future health of the UK economy and the inquiry aims to bring forward recommendations to help Government get the support right for British business to work towards the highly ambitious target of £1 trillion exports by 2020.

In December, FDF submitted a written response to this inquiry, setting out a number of areas that could help to deliver more effective export support, enabling food and drink manufacturers to be more competitive and fulfil its potential in terms of increasing exports to third markets.
