FSA report on microbiologial risk from shell eggs and their products

FSA launched a 10-week public consultation on a draft report by an expert group of the Advisory Committee on the Microbiological Safety of Food (ACMSF), looking at the safety of raw or lightly cooked eggs in February 2016. The report recommends that Lion Code eggs, or eggs produced under equivalent schemes, can be served raw or lightly cooked to those in the most vulnerable groups, which is contrary to current FSA advice. Subsequently, the FSA published the final ACMSF report and have consulted on amending their advice.
