FSA draft recommendations on saturated fat and added sugar reductions, and on
portion size availability, for biscuits, cakes, pastries and chocolate
confectionery
On the 28th July 2009, the FSA issued draft recommendations on saturated fat and
added sugar reductions, and on portion size availability, for biscuits, cakes,
pastries, buns, chocolate confectionery (and soft drinks); for consultation.
The BCCC Technical & Regulatory Committee responded to the consultation
highlighting the challenges manufacturers face regarding saturated fat, portion size and
energy reductions across product porfolios, as well as emphasising their
progress in providing consumers with healthier choices to date.
