FDF responded to Defra's Consultation on draft updated guidance on Green Claims.

The Food and Drink Federation understands that the purpose of the updated guidance is to improve the standard of environmental claims through encouraging voluntary best practice. However it is not clear from the consultation who will be monitoring and checking that environmental claims are made in accordance with the code i.e. that they are accurate, relevant and not misleading. This especially applies to claims regarding future environmental performance.
