BCCC Response: LACORS Food Labelling Advice on Raw Chocolate
The LACORS Food Labelling Focus Group agreed labelling advice on raw chocolate
in 2009.
This is of particular relevance as an increasing market for such 'raw chocolate'
products seem to be emerging, along with consumer interest due to the 'healthy'
impression of these products.
Such products can not adopt the name 'chocolate' as it does not meet
compositional requirements or a 'sugar free' status. Following discussion
regarding the
advice, the BCCC Technical & Regulatory Committee meeting agreed to respond to
LACORS.
