FDF members are committed to achieving fewer and friendlier food transport miles
as part of our Five-fold Environmental Ambition. In particular our members are
making a contribution to the IGD Efficient Consumer Response UK Sustainable
Distribution Initiative which is aiming to save 80 million HGV miles over the
period
2010-12.
It is also important to understand that the vast majority of FDF members use
third party road
hauliers to transport their goods as opposed to having their own fleet.
