FDF Response to BIS Consultation on the Regional Growth Fund
FDF has responded to the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills' public
consultation on the design of a £1 billion Regional Growth Fund to support
projects that offer potential for sustainable economic growth and private
sector
employment.
The consultation asks stakeholders how funding should be allocated; the types of
activities the fund should support; how the bidding system for funding should
work; and whether the fund should become a long term means of providing growth.
FDF's submission focused on the need to prioritise funding on skills and
employment opportunities, varying funding allocation to respond to the
differing needs
of individual areas and implementing a bidding system that is response driven
and easy to administer enabling organisations of all sizes to take advantage.
