FDF fully supports the UK Government's goal of reducing, reusing, recycling and recovering waste and only using landfill as a last resort. In fact under FDF's Five-fold Environmental Ambition (link) our members are already committed to working towards sending zero food and packaging waste to landfill from 2015.

FDF therefore supports the principle of introducing a landfill ban accompanied by a requirement to sort for certain materials providing there is sufficient lead-in time to allow alternative infrastructure to develop and subject to clarification of certain definitions..
