Case Study: Warburtons
Warburtons' community initiatives aim to service local needs through engaging
employees with their local communities. Its employees throughout the UK,
supported by the Board, are encouraged to identify the needs of their community
and
suggest ways in which to fulfil them.
The resulting wide range of activities provides a real bond between the
Warburtons' sites and their local communities, and cover:
- the “Use Your Loaf” road safety campaign;
- school breakfast clubs;
- support for local lollipop patrols;
- sponsorship for an under-11 football team; and
- chairing the Bolton Coronary Care Unit fund raising initiative.
These initiatives ran in 2004.
