Brexit Essentials for Food and Drink businesses – No Deal Preparations

With the Prime Minister committed to exiting the EU on 31 October 2019, businesses are being advised to scale up their plans for a No Deal Brexit.

Key elements of Brexit including customs and tariffs; regulation and immigration will impact most food and drink businesses and it’s vital that you are prepared. Even the day to day operations of businesses who trade little with the EU may suffer knock-on impacts as the result of any delays or shortages.

Our Scottish Brexit Essentials – No Deal Preparation event will bring together expert speakers who have spent the past three years assessing the impacts for UK producers. The event is being tailored specifically for the food and drink manufacturing industry and supply chain.

The event includes breakout sessions allowing time to ask experts business specific questions and hear what support is available from government agencies.

Speakers include:

  • Political update - George Burgess, Deputy Director - Food and Drink, Scottish Government and David Thomson, CEO, FDF Scotland
  • Regulation - Stephen Hendry, Senior Policy Advisor, Food Standards Scotland
  • Workforce and immigration – Jacqueline Moore, Head of Immigration, Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP
  • Supply chain resilience and exposure risk – George Frier, Partner and Head of Food and Drink, Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP
  • Enterprise and skills agency support for businesses - Ewan Mearns, Senior Manager – Strategy and Sectors, Scottish Enterprise

To book a place please email info@fdfscotland.org.uk with any dietary requirements. The event is free for members and £75 + VAT for non-members.
