The preferential trade agreements that are in the press at the moment typically deliver improved terms of trade between two or more trading partners. The scope and content of agreements varies significantly, as do the requirements they place on traders to benefit.Login to register
Where these trade agreements deliver reduced or zero-rated tariffs on food and drink, they also include detailed terms and conditions that dictate whether a product can benefit. These rules can be challenging for products that contain certain imported ingredients.
As the UK seeks to put in place new and updated preferential trade agreements, it is clear that new opportunities are being created for UK food and drink businesses to trade overseas.
