Jason Chester- Trade Mark Director
Jason helps businesses identify, protect, enforce and utilise their brand assets in domestic and international markets by providing strategic trade mark advice and solutions that align with their commercial goals and budget.
Jason was recognised as a recommended practitioner in the 2021-2024 editions of The Legal 500 and World Trademark Review 1000 (WTR1000). He was named as a ‘Rising Star’ in MIP Stars 2022, 2023 and 2024, and has appeared live on BBC Radio Scotland and GB News to talk about matters relating to trade marks. Jason has a wealth of experience in the food & drink sector, regularly speaking at industry conferences and authoring articles in trade publications.
James Appleyard- Chartered Trade Mark Attorney
James has over a decade of experience in the IP industry with a specific focus on trade marks. He currently advises clients on a broad range of matters, including the strategic acquisition of IP rights and how brands can be utilised to their best effect in the global marketplace. James also advises clients on searching and clearing brands for use and registration as well as the filing and prosecution of trade mark applications. He also advises clients across a wide range of industry sectors on enforcement of IP rights and how best to use existing rights against infringing third parties, as well as strategies to defend against incoming legal challenges.
