
Call for industry to back innovative Careers Passport
The FDF is calling on manufacturers of all sizes to back a new Careers Passport and help solve the labour shortages that are hindering the industry.
T Levels are new courses, to follow GCSE’s and are equivalent to 3 A Levels. They are two year courses that offer a mixture of classroom learning and ‘on-the-job’ experience with approximately 45 days of industry placements.
The FDF is engaging with government and our members to support the development of T Levels so they are aligned to industry needs. We will support our members in offering the placements required for successful delivery following roll out in 2021 and 2022.
The Department for Education is hosting a series of free webinars for employers on T Level industry placements. The workshops will cover a variety of topics including placements in specific skills areas and looking at some of the broader concerns about placements that have been raised by employers.
