Seasoning and Spice Association Technical Committee (SSAT)

The SSA Technical Committee meets four times a year and consists of the SSA Technical Chair, Vice-Chair alongside representation from the SSA member companies.

Committee purpose

The role of the committee is to:

  • Provide a forum for SSA members to discuss specifically technical issues; for example, residues and contaminants, official border controls and additives. Ad hoc working groups will be formed as necessary.

  • Suggest and approve various data collection and product testing exercises as required to be carried out by the Secretariat.

  • Formally approves Position Statements and Advice to Members updates that have been put forward by ad hoc working groups.
