Work at the FDF
We’re always on the lookout for talented people to help us shape the future of food and drink manufacturing.
When you join FDF, you join a skilled team of experts who work with businesses, government, regulators and most importantly our members to create a business environment for the industry to thrive. You’ll also be part of the UK’s largest manufacturing sector, supporting half a million jobs, making products that are loved in the UK and beyond.
The FDFs teams are based in London, Edinburgh and Wales. We are one team across the UK that collaborates and supports one another. We are creative and have a ‘can do’ attitude. We learn continuously, making a positive difference and building strong relationships with our colleagues, industry and government, while behaving ethically and transparently.
We run regular surveys to help us understand how our colleagues feel and identify opportunities to improve. Our Town Hall meetings bring everyone together to discuss key topics, and weekly huddles help us keep our priorities clear.

What we offer
Hybrid & flexible working
Balancing your work and home life is important, which is why you can work up to 60% of your time from home. Our office is designed to work in a collaborative way, empowering you to work from different spaces, such as quiet meeting rooms or booths. We understand that colleagues need flexibility in their working hours, so we’re happy to discuss early / later start and finish times where possible.
Health & wellbeing
We are dedicated to supporting both mental and physical wellbeing. Our Wellbeing Champions work hard to raise awareness of mental health in the workplace and are available to support colleagues. Our ‘Feel Good for Life’ team organises a calendar of events each year, celebrating food and encouraging a balanced approach to diet.
We also offer private medical insurance and annual health assessments in the office, and we encourage everyone to stay active through our Health and Wellbeing allowance.
If you’re an avid reader or looking to expand your reading list, you can join our Book club, which meets regularly.
Social responsibility
We are committed to making a positive impact in our community. We offer volunteering days that allow our colleagues to give back to causes they care about, and we regularly organise group volunteering sessions to support food charities.
Training and development
At FDF, we believe learning never stops. Which is why we offer a wide range of learning and development opportunities; from annual development programmes alongside your colleagues, to individual training courses, coaching and mentoring and sponsorship for professional qualifications.
We have a generous benefits package aimed at supporting the wellbeing of our colleagues. Highlights include:
- Private medical cover through BUPA for you and your family
- Wellbeing allowance of up to £360 a year
- Enhanced annual leave plus extra time off around bank holidays and Christmas
