The Food and Drink Federation (FDF) represents the UK’s largest manufacturing sector, an industry at the heart of national prosperity, innovation and employment. We're now looking for an Industry Growth Executive to join our dynamic Industry Growth team, helping to shape the future of food and drink manufacturing across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about public policy, employment and skills, technology adoption, and supporting an industry vital to the UK economy.
Key responsibilities
- Track and analyse developments in employment and skills policy, including the Employment Rights Act and apprenticeship and wider skills reforms.
- Produce concise briefings for members and colleagues, highlighting implications and risks.
- Contribute to policy positions, consultation responses, and practical guidance.
- Support the smooth running of Employment & Skills member forums, including agendas, papers and action tracking.
- Monitor policies and government programmes relating to innovation and productivity.
- Support delivery of the Food and Drink Technology Taskforce, coordinating workshops, meetings and actions.
- Track developments relating to the Groceries Code Adjudicator and wider supply chain practices.
- Contribute to cross-team policy projects on growth and investment issues.
- Build strong relationships with FDF members to ensure their priorities inform our work.
- Support engagement with government, regulators, innovation bodies and other stakeholders.
- Assist in delivering meetings, events and webinars.
- Keep Industry Growth web content accurate and up to date.
- Maintain high-quality CRM records in collaboration with the Team Coordinator.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Professional experience in skills, employment, innovation policy or a related area.
- Demonstrated interest in UK politics and public policy.
- Strong organisational and project management abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident representing FDF in stakeholder meetings.
- Knowledge of political processes and key policy issues affecting food and drink manufacturing.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
