Employment and Skills Forum (ESF)

As the largest employer in UK manufacturing with nearly 500,000 employees, food and drink manufacturers are focused on recruiting new talent and upskilling its workforce across the country. The FDF’s Employment and Skills Forum (ESF) provides HR and learning and development professionals a place to discuss key issues.

To effectively address both Skills and Employment policy areas, the Employment and Skills Forum separated its two key priority areas, allowing adequate time to focus on critical policy developments:

  1. Skills & Education: to influence the government’s plans for the Growth and Skills Levy and the forthcoming Post-16 Education and Skills Strategy – working with talent/ learning and development leads. (
    ESFS
    )
  2. Employment & Workforce: to influence the government’s Employment Rights Bill (and Make Work Pay proposals) with HR Leads. (
    ESFE
    )
