FDF response to UK Trade Strategy

Balwinder Dhoot, Director of Growth and Sustainability, The Food and Drink Federation said:

“With UK trade struggling to recover to pre-pandemic levels, we welcome the publication of a new strategy setting out the government’s ambition to remove barriers to trade. The continued focus on a renewed SPS agreement with the EU, to reduce the current burdens that businesses face when trading with our closest and most important trade partner is welcome. We were also pleased to see the inclusion of measures to strengthen imports, which is vital to safeguarding the UK’s food security.

“We look forward to working with government over coming months to turn ambition into action and maintain momentum in building stronger trade relationships across global markets.”
