Reformulation for Health
Reformulation support for Scotland
Obesity and poor diet have a significant impact on public health. The Scottish Government’s ‘A Healthier Future’ plan highlighted reformulation as a key strategy to help improve dietary health.
The Reformulation for Health programme is funded by Scottish Government to support all small and medium-size food businesses in reformulating their products.
The programme has helped remove millions of calories, tonnes of salt, and sugar, from commonly consumed products. Further products have also been enriched with fibre; all helping consumers meet nutrient goals without relying on behavioural changes.
