Fibre’s Moment: Turning Trends Into Action

26 February 2026

Topics

Watch this Fibre February for an update on FDF’s Action on Fibre initiative, and how companies and key partners are working to bridge the fibre gap, in light of the growing popularity of fibre with consumers.

A diet high in fibre has a range of benefits, from improvements in digestive health, reduction in the risk of certain types of cancer, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease like stroke, and may also play a role in weight management.

Despite this, dietary intakes of fibre in the UK have remained consistently low across all age groups and demographics, due to a lack of awareness of how much fibre we need and a common misconception that fibre is bland, boring and only good for digestive health.
