Seeking a confident Finance Executive to join the FDF Corporate Services team. A great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated finance professional to join the largest and most influential food and drink trade body in the UK.

Hours 35 hours per week; 2 to 3 days a week in the office
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional Finance Executive to join the FDF, an organisation that has been around for over one hundred years, representing and advocating for the UK food and drink manufacturing industry.
As a Finance Executive, you will be working as part of the Corporate Services team supporting colleagues, looking after the Sales and Purchase Ledgers for a number of different Associations, preparing management accounts and completing statutory submissions such as VAT and Corporation Tax returns.
Key responsibilities for the Finance Executive
- Raise Sales Orders and Purchase Orders, setting up new customers and suppliers in FocalPoint
- Raise / process sales and purchase invoices and credit notes
- Credit control using agreed escalation process for aged debtors and creditors
- Record and bank all cheques received
- Review, reconcile and close sale and purchase ledgers including reconciling between the finance system (Dimensions), the CRM and expenses system
- Inductions and training for staff on how to best use FocalPoint
- Process monthly payment run, ad hoc and cashbook payments / receipts
- Supplier statement reconciliation
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet and sub ledger reconciliations including identifying solutions to resolve aged items
- Assist with the annual audit
- Prepare FDF VAT return and Grant accounts
- Provide monthly data for Finance Team KPI’s
- Update weekly cashflow forecast
- Investigate issues with the finance systems as they arise and work with our service provider (Access) and our internal IT/Digital teams to resolve
Requirements for the Finance Executive
- A good understanding of financial accounts and banking procedures
- Good communicator and ability to build good working relationships
- Strong organisational skills
- Numerate with an analytical mind
- Diligent with a good attention to detail
- Experience of VAT
- Experience with Dimensions, FocalPoint, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience of working for a trade association or similar member-led organisation
