Incident Management Working Group (IMWG)

The Incident Management Working Group is an ad hoc consultative group utilised to assist information and intelligence sharing on incident prevention, preparedness and management. 

Members should follow the cross-cutting work of the Food Safety Committee (FSC) to receive the latest information and updates on emerging issues, incident prevention and incident management. In assessing the impact of emerging issues the FDF helps inform industry’s own activity to maintain the assurance and integrity of its products and supply chains.

Committee purpose

This ad hoc group supports the Food Safety Committee (FSC) across the following areas:

  • Incident Prevention: the process of making and implementing plans that help avoid iccidents occurring.

  • Incident Preparedness: identifying and disseminating best practice, as an effective incident response begins before an incident or crisis is detected.

  • Incident Management: ensuring the proportionate and consistent handling of emerging issues and incidents, including approriate engagement with regulators.
