Tate & Lyle: Showcasing Fibre Innovation at the FDF Parliamentary Tasting Event
Tate & Lyle demonstrated its commitment to healthier diets by participating in the FDF Parliamentary Tasting Event, where we showcased innovative fibre-enriched prototypes.
Tate & Lyle participated in the FDF Parliamentary Tasting Event to showcase its commitment to promoting healthier diets through fibre innovation. As the only B2B company at the event, Tate & Lyle demonstrated how fibre-enriched solutions can support reformulation and inspire the development of healthier products. This initiative aligned with the company’s mission to address public health challenges, such as low fibre intake, by collaborating with food manufacturers to create healthier options. The event, held at the House of Commons in October 2024, was designed to showcase member efforts in healthier product innovation, such as reformulation and portion size changes. Tate & Lyle presented two fibre-enriched prototypes: the Apple, Oat & Cinnamon Mini-Muffin, a high-fibre baked treat showcasing fibre incorporation in indulgent snacks, and the Apple & Cucumber Energy Drink, a refreshing beverage demonstrating fibre enhancement without compromising taste or texture. Both products were designed to balance taste, convenience, and nutritional benefits. Through its participation, Tate & Lyle reinforced its position as a leader in fibre innovation, engaging with key stakeholders to advocate for the role of fibre in healthier diets. By sharing samples of its fibre-enriched prototypes with attendees, the company demonstrated the feasibility of reformulation without sacrificing consumer appeal. Discussions with MPs, nutritionists, and industry experts further emphasised the importance of fibre in public health initiatives, strengthening relationships and enhancing awareness of Tate & Lyle’s expertise in fibre fortification.
