PRESS RELEASE

Today, a number of food and drink businesses from all across the UK celebrated their economic success and community initiatives at the prestigious Community Partnership Awards. The awards, which took place at Shakespeare's Globe in London, reward businesses throughout the food chain for being both successful and for making a positive difference.

A total of 25 trophies were awarded across the following categories: Apprentice of the Year, Developing Skills for the Future, Education, Environmental Leadership, Export Success of the Year, Good Employer, Growing Business of the Year, Health & Wellbeing and Local Community. In addition, an overall winner was given the FDF President's Award.

This year's overall winner and recipient of the FDF President's Award was Mars Food UK. The company's 'Wellness Food Enterprise Week' was selected by FDF President and Managing Director of General Mills UK Jim Moseley, for demonstrating true community engagement and for harnessing the creativity of the company's young talent.

FDF Director of Communications, Terry Jones said:

“Our Community Partnership Awards are an important opportunity to recognise the positive impact food and drink businesses have across the country and to celebrate their economic success."

“Whether it's working with local schools, sourcing ingredients sustainably or showcasing British products on the global stage, the food and drink sector is full of great examples of how businesses can be both successful and responsible. This year's winners are an inspiration to all businesses, both in and out of the food chain, and show not only what can be achieved when companies are committed to making a positive difference, but also why our sector is a such great place to be.”
